There was a report last week in Okotoks of an aggressive coyote and two reports of an aggressive deer.

The coyote incident happened on Veteran's Way near the Rotary Performing Arts Centre.

Urban forest park technician Gordon White says this was a first.

"This was the first year we had a report of a coyote...acting aggressively. And it followed a woman with her dog."

Luckily the woman and her dog weren't hurt.

However, a deer attack did occur in the Westmount area.

There were two reports of aggressive deer last week and the last report involved a Mule deer doe protecting her fawn.

"The deer did actually contact the persons pet and the person said that her dog suffered some bruises but was otherwise okay."

And the aggressive deer still seems to be an issue in the Westmount area with more reports coming out this week in the Tucker Parkway near the storm pond.

westmount deerA sign was posted in Westmount to warn of the aggressive deer.

Signs are posted at each entrance to the parkway and the town is asking you to please use caution or avoid this area especially in the early hours of dawn and the twilight hours of dusk.

White reminds to never walk between a doe and her fawns, keep your dog on a leash and keep your cats inside if you live nearby.
