Some early evening rains made for a muddy night at the Ponoka Stampede as the chucks ran their third night of racing in front of a full capacity crowd.

Ponoka Stampede defending champion, Kurt Bensmiller, was the star of the night from barrel two in the final heat of the evening.

High River's Jason Glass came in 11th, Okotoks Mark Sutherland placed 24th, with Dayton Sutherland behind in 30th place.

Glass now stands second in the aggregate standings, with Mark Sutherland trailing in fifth place. High River's Jordie Fike is in 23rd and Dayton Sutherland is 29th.

Night four runs tonight, with the top eight heading into the semi-final. The top four times will move into the $50,000 dash for cash with the winner taking home the Ponoka Stampede Championship.
