The Big Sky Astronomical Society's Observatory out at the Twin Valley Reservoir is about to triple in size.

Astronomer, James Durbano, says they're going to add two new buildings to go with the one they already have.

He says they'll have one big difference over the observatory they already have.

"The two new observatories are going to have what is called a "warm room" which as the name implies is a room where people can stay and be warm. Whereas the telescope is never warm. The telescope is always in the cold part of the observatory."

Astronomer James Durbano is excited about the upgrades and new additions coming for the Big Sky Astronomical Society.

Durbano, says they could be up and running by Fall.

"The two new observatories are in the early stages of construction now. Hopefully they'll be finished in a few months. If we run into some delays or technical difficulties it might get pushed back to the Spring of 2020."

Durbano says they're also planning to retrofit the old observatory with a "warm room" as well.
