The Calgary Stampede's annual Canvas Auction is coming up this Thursday night.

Some big names are expected to draw top dollars for their chuckwagons.

There was a tie with last year's highest bids of $170,000 going to Kris Molle and Kurt Bensmiller.

It's the 44th year for the auction as last year's payout was their 10th highest on record.

Locally Jason Glass brought in $110,000 last year as Jordie Fike landed a bid of $100,000. Mark Sutherland retired last year but his son Dayton will be looking for a big payout this year too.

Thirteen drivers hit the $100,000 bar last season.

For the third year in a row, it's a ticketed event through Ticketmaster, but you'll get some extra bang for your buck with a performance by Foxx Worthee.

It's in the Big Four Roadhouse building again as doors open at 5 p.m. with the auction running from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Foxx Worthee hits the stage at 9.

The Calgary Stampede runs from July 5-14 this year.
