Today was such a great day! This morning I went to Blackie where they had a free pancake breakfast at the Fire Hall then I participated in the parade as well. Lots of people came out to watch and eat the breakfast!
There were lots of other acitivities happening in Blackie like a cake cutting ceremony, motorcycle and vehicle show and shine, a horse shoe tournament, concessions, a tractor pull, and a fun land that was free to kids all day. Tonight there will be a fireworks display in Blackie that starts at 11:00pm.
After the parade in Blackie I came back to High River and went to George Lane Park where they also had tons of celebrations and activities going on. Emile Blockland had a cake cutting ceremony and plaque presentation with Danielle Smith. There was bouncy castles and carnival games at the baseball diamond, wagon rides around the park, and at the one stage in the park there was performances from dance groups, a juggler, and Canadian trivia where people could win prizes.
Fireworks are happening in High River tonight at Emerson Lake at 10:45pm, I can't wait to watch! Today has been a busy, fun day and the those fireworks will be the perfect way to wrap up this Canada Day weekend.
