The Alberta Canola Producers Commission is seeking four canola producers to serve as directors on the board of directors for a three-year term.

Alberta Canola has 12 defined regions, with each region electing an eligible producer to represent the canola growers within that region.

Any producer who grew canola in regions 2, 5, 8, or 11 and paid a service charge to Alberta Canola since August 1, 2021, is an eligible producer and can let their name stand to be a director in the 2023 nominations.

The nomination period is open until 4:00pm on October 31, 2023

Region 8 is made up of the area that is included in the following:
(a) Wheatland County;
(b) Mountain View County;
(c) repealed AR 173/2005 s4;
(d) Municipal District of Bighorn No. 8;
(e) Municipal District of Foothills No. 31;
(f) Rocky View County;
(g) Kneehill County;
(h) Improvement District No. 9 (Banff);
(i) any city, town, village or summer village that is encompassed by the area described in clauses (a) to (h).

Region 8 Director Ian Chitwood is completing his second term as an Alberta Canola director.

Alberta Canola directors may serve up to three consecutive terms of three years.
