A correction to a story we brought you earlier this week.

Starting Monday, the Town of High River will be performing maintenance work on the centre street bridge but the bridge is not closing entirely.

The bridge will be down to single lane alternating traffic for the duration of the project, with traffic controls present during construction.

The maintenance work will include painting, railing extensions to the current handrails, and refurbishment of the bearing.

It is expected that the maintenance work will extend the service life of the bridge by 25 years if regular maintenance is continued.

This project is one of the approved capital projects for 2021.

The project to be finished by late September.
