The ongoing Deerfoot Trail Improvements project will cause several ramp closures along the Deerfoot this weekend.

From Friday, April 19th to the morning of Monday, April 22nd, ramps closures will be in effect to accommodate the removal of an overhead southbound bridge on the Deerfoot.

The following ramps will be closed so crews can do their work:

  • Deerfoot Trail northbound and southbound from Anderson Road SE to 24 Street NE
  • Eastbound Anderson Road SE from Acadia Drive SE to Deerfoot Trail
  • Northbound Bow Bottom Trail SE from Diamond Drive SE to Deerfoot Trail

Once the work begins on Friday, crews will be working around the clock to expedite the project and help ensure the ramps will reopen at 6 a.m. on Monday.

While the work is being completed, the speed limits will be reduced to help keep crews safe.

Along the affected section of Deerfoot Trail, the speed limit will be reduced to 80 km/h, while the speed limit will drop to 50 km/h for the work zones along Bow Bottom Trail SE and Anderson Road SE.

Motorists are asked to be aware of the posted speed limits, signage, and short-term traffic delays as a result of the work.
