COVID-19 numbers continue to rise in Alberta, though things seem to be improving in the Foothills.

The Town of Okotoks is down to six cases after hovering around 10 over the last few weeks, while the Town of High River has just a single case.

Elsewhere in the Foothills region, the province's geospatial data shows one case in Claresholm, with four active cases in the Black Diamond region, and three in Vulcan County.

Province-wide, 244 new active cases were reported, with the total number of active cases reaching 2,738.

1,497 of those are in the Edmonton Zone.

101 people are being treated in hospital, with 16 in intensive care units.

One additional death has been confirmed, bringing the total number of fatalities in Alberta to 288.

12,721 tests were completed on Wednesday, October 14, with a total of 1,583,918 total tests having been completed.

Recoveries have risen to 18,417.

Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw's will update the numbers Friday, October 16.
