The Okotoks Dawgs closed out a five game homestand with a 3-0 win Tuesday night over the Melville Millionaires.

This one was a "knee knocker" until the eighth inning when the Dawgs exploded for three runs.

Josh McIntyre brought in two of those runs, while Kellen Marruffo brought in the other.

Brendan Rose improved his hitting streak to 10 games with a couple of hits the night, along with scoring a run.

C.J. Lewington picked up his fifth win of the year on the mound going eight full innings, giving up just two hits, with no runs, four walks and six strike outs.

Christan Parsons took over for the ninth inning, striking out two Millionaires batters and earning his fifth save of the year.

The Dawgs are on the road Thursday and Friday as they travel to Moose Jaw to face the Miller Express.

Then it's into Medicine Hat Saturday where they hope to gain some ground on the first place Mavericks, who lead the second place Dawgs by four games in the WMBL's West Division race.
