The Comp Falcons kick off the high school football playoffs Friday, October 18, in the Big Rock Football League Semi-Finals.

They'll take on Strathmore starting at 5 o'clock at the Comp.

Coach, Nathan St. Dennis, says they have a mental edge as they beat the Spartans earlier this season.

"Beat them by a couple of touchdown's I think, but we're excited to have them here. We're excited for our guys to kind of get after playoff football. It's new for a lot them and it's a different feel for sure. We're all about getting better and you know every week is an important week now once we get into these playoffs."

St. Dennis, says they beat the Spartans early this season, but they're not the same team they were then.

"They moved one of their slotbacks to quarterback and he played against HTA last week and actually looked really good. Throws the ball really well and he's a very good athlete, so it was a great move on their part. We have to do our due diligence and prepare for that and we're expecting them to come out and give us a good show."

St. Dennis, says they don't want to look past Strathmore, but a win could put them back into the league finals against the arch rivals, the HTA knights.

"So, we're focused on Strathmore, but without a doubt you know it's in the back of the kids minds of getting back to that championship game with the anticipation that HTA's going to be in it. And we get a chance to battle through a good Okotoks football game, which we hope is the case."

The winner will face the winner of the other semi-between the HTA Knights and the Rundle College Cobras.

That game goes at 7:30 at Knights Field.
