The UCP Government says they'll introduce their new farm safety legislation in the Fall session.

During the election campaign and in last weeks Throne Speech, the UCP has said their Farm Freedom and Safety Act would reduce the tax and regulatory burden on producers.

The Government says the Act will also strength farmers' property rights.

Leading up to the election, the UCP party campaigned they'd repeal the NDP's Bill 6 and introduce their own farm safety legislation which will require employers to have insurance for farm workers, but allow them to choose whether to buy insurance from the market or through the Workers Compensation Board (WCB).

In an interview earlier this month, Alberta's Ag Minister Devin Dreeshen says they hope to consult with farmers as soon as seeding wraps up.
