Turner Valley RCMP responded to a fatal crash over the weekend near Longview.

Constable Michael Dillon says the incident occurred sunday night around 10 o'clock .

"It appears a motorcycle was heading in a north-easterly direction on highway 541 - for some unknown reason entered the ditch and went through the ditch quite aways and ended up down a ravine by the highwood river."

Dillon says it was difficult to find the people involved because witnesses couldn't identify the exact location the motorcycle went off the road.

A 36 year old man from Turner Valley was pronounced dead at the scene, a 26 year old woman also from Turner Valley was airlifted to the Foothills Hospital.

No names have been released.
