Five local hockey players will be among 160 from across the province competing in Hockey lberta's 2016 Alberta Cup.

The 2001-born players were selected from hundreds  who attended zone camps late last month.

There are two teams each from Calgary and Edmonton, and one each representing the South, Central, Northeast and Northwest zones of the province.

The south team includes four payers from Okotoks and one from Claresholm.

Defenseman Kirby Proctor  of Okotoks will be joined by forwards Jaevon Buchlen, Zachary Okabe and Peyton Krebs.

Claresholm's Byron Fancy is one of two goaltenders.

The teams will play in a four-day, tournament at the Canmore Recreation Centre along with an education seminar hosted by the WHL.

The tourney goes April 27 to May 1..
