A good and bad weekend for the High River Flyers in the Heritage Junior 'B" Hockey League.

They wound up the first half of the season on a high note with a 4-2 win over the Academy Bears Saturday night in Banff.

Pretty impressive considering they endured an 11-0 pounding at the hands of the Okotoks Bisons the night before at home.

And the Strathmore Wheatland Kings head into the break on a two game losing streak as they fell 5-3 to Banff Friday and 7-3 to Coaldale Saturday.

The Bisons finish the first half two points behind the Cochrane Generals for top spot in the South Division.

The Flyers are sixth while the Wheaties are two points ahead of them in fifth.

The "AAA" Midget Bisons finished with a split in their final weekend before the Mac's Tournament.

They were 6-1 winners over the Lethbridge Hurricanes Saturday, but fell 4-3 to the Calgary Northstars Sunday in the City.

They open the Mac's Boxing Day against the Yorkton Maulers at 12:45 P.M. at the Father David Bauer Arena.
