The chucks get back to work Friday, August 2, in Strathmore at the Heritage Days Stampede.

High River's Jason Glass, coming off a disappointing Calgary Stampede says it was nice to have a couple of weeks off.

"Yeah, it was great. The horses got to rest and eat a lot of grass and fatten up a bit and the family got to go to the lake and hang out and see some friends. So, yeah. It was a great couple of weeks."

Penalties early at the Stampede kept glass out of any shot at the title, but he says overall he was happy with how the Rangeland Derby went.

"Actually I only had one real bad night and I thought the horses were great every other night. So, it's tough, I got a bunch of new horses and we're going to keep getting better."

Glass finds himself in 12th spot in the WPCA World Standings and says he still has a shot to catch the leaders and win the world title.

"We do have a lot of race days left. With any luck at all if I run really strong every night we still have a chance to win the world. You know, you always have to keep looking positive and forward. So, that's what we're going to keep shooting for."

The chucks run Friday to Monday August 5, in Strathmore.
