High River will be a hub of activity tomorrow, with many Canada Day festivities in store.

The day kicks off in the morning with the 13th annual High River Half Marathon and Servus Credit Union Canada Day Run where close to 400 people will run through town

Then at noon, community programming supervisor with the Town of High River, Cynthia Farrow, says there will be an opening speech from Mayor Craig Snodgrass in George Lane Park, followed by live music and games.

"At the Centennial Stage, we'll have all kinds of fun demos going on. We've got a juggler and we also have a hula-hoop dancer who's going to be doing a demo there," she says. "And we of course have the ball diamond that's going to be filled with games and inflatables."

She says the night will end with another spectacular fireworks display at Emerson Lake from 10:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

"However, we'll have music and a DJ set up there ahead of time, so if you want to come and enjoy the evening, you can get there early," Farrow says.
