Usually, the High River Spray Park opens for the May long weekend however, it's been delayed by a week.

According to a Town of High River media release, "some quick preventative maintenance to ensure it is operating smoothly."

The Spray Park in the Northwest will officially open on Saturday, May 25.

It will run Thursday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until June 27, then open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday from June 28 to September 4.

It will only open when temperatures hit 18°C and does close during inclement weather.

There's a parking lot just off High Country Drive to avoid parking on the street and washrooms and a drinking fountain are on site.

The Town also noted that with the impending drought, the water used at the Spray Park recycles treated water through an underground basin which they do have to add water to occasionally due to evaporation.
