Highway ditches up and down Alberta are getting their annual spring cleanup this Saturday, May 6.

Volunteer groups will be out from 7 a.m. till 5 p.m. cleaning up all the garbage that's piled up over the winter.

Watch out for 4H clubs, Scouts, Girl Guides, schools, Rotary clubs and various non-profit groups helping out.

They will be wearing orange safety vests and filling orange garbage bags.

The only wrench in the plans is the weather and with chilly and rainy conditions expected in the Foothills region, it may be postponed till next Saturday, May 13.

It coincides with many towns such as High River and Okotoks hosting their own spring cleanups.
