The 25th is right around the corner and many of us have only just begun to wrap the gifts we picked up for friends, family and loved ones.

Wrapping gifts can be a daunting task... let alone having a cat around to interfere with the process.

Below are the tips and tricks I have learned from being a father of two ferocious felines.

1. Remove gift from bag. Now remove cat from bag.
2. Open box to check gift. Now remove cat from box, replace gift.
3. Smooth out gift wrap, realize cat is underneath it and remove cat.
4. Toss out first sheet of wrap as cat has chased the scissors and torn the paper.
5. Place gift on paper to hold in place while tearing transparent tape.
6. Spend 20 minutes carefully trying to remove transparent tape from cat with nail scissors.
7. Look for a length of ribbon. Chase cat down hall in order to retrieve ribbon.
8. When finished, put gift and all wrapping materials in locked closet.
9. Discover cat has somehow also gotten into closet and already torn gift paper.
10. Begin again at step 1.
11. Upon completion, spend 15 minutes looking for cat until coming to obvious conclusion.
12. Unwrap present, untie box and remove cat.
13. Go to store and buy a gift bag.
