The Livingstone Macleod riding now has a fourth candidate for the upcoming provincial election.

Corrie Toone has been nominated as the Independence Party of Alberta candidate in the riding.

The Claresholm business owner was announced as their candidate on March 25.

On their website, they describe their objective of “[reducing] Alberta’s dependence upon Canada’s federal government,” and their goal of holding a referendum on independence in their first year, if elected.

Toone is one of six officially nominated Independence Party candidates in the province so far.

It's expected the provincial election will be May 29 of this year, though the writ has yet to be dropped.
