International visitors to Spruce Meadows this week get a chance to experience life in the foothills.

The "National" show jumping event starts Friday and Laura Karlson with Spruce Meadows says the Country Fair is back again this year.

Karlson says the fair is an effort to educate urban visitors about where there food comes from and what life is like on the farm.

"We have a program called Junior farmers where kids can come and participate in activities that you would do on the farm to earn themselves a Junior Farmer medallion and a chance to win a ride on a tractor".

Karlson says joining the country fair lineup this year is a Bluegrass Festival including John Wort Hannam of Fort Macleod and Restless Lester from Calgary.
