Kinsmen Club continues to give back

The Kinsmen Club of High River have doled out three cheques over the last few weeks as they continue to give back to the community.

Through BBQ's and their big 50/50 raffle fundraiser coming up for a Traeger Grill they are already able to put money right back into High River and surrounding areas.

Members of the club showed up in force this past Saturday, May 11 at the High River Fire Hall for the Open House.

Once again, they grilled up burgers and hot dogs and ended up handing out two cheques while doing so.

Kinsmen Club of High River Treasurer Jason Clark said it's thanks to the raffle they can help support others.

"The sale of these tickets is how we fund Heaven Can Wait, the Salvation Army Food Bank. We've also given a sizable to CF [Cystic Fibrosis) Canada."

The cheque for Heaven Can Wait was for $1000 with the Food Bank cheque rounded up to $500.

Clark says that had fun selling burgers and hot dogs courtesy of Sobeys High River the previous weekend when they launched their raffle campaign.

"We raised $152 selling hot dogs and hamburgers for the Food Bank and then we are as the Kinsmen group bumping that up to $500."

To get in on the raffle for the Traeger Grill prize pack, valued at $2,800 club president Rob Moncrieff says it's really easy.

"The tickets are $10 each and you can get them online through Rafflebox. It's very simple, you just scan the [QR| code, go onto Rafflebox and put your information in and hopefully, we give you a call to claim your prize."

Moncrieff reminds that they are always looking for more volunteers to join the Kinsmen Club of High River.

"We meet the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at the High River Scout Hall. We're always looking for new members to help the community."
