The competition was tough down at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, Wyoming earlier this month.

High River's Jenna Dallyn wrapped up her two years at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas this spring and competed in 10 rodeos in her region this year to get to the CNFR.

"The top three in each event from those 10 rodeos get to go to the college finals," Dallyn said. "I ended up second in my region in the goat tying, so that's how I made it there (CNFR)."

When it was all said and done, Dallyn placed third overall in the Goat Tying at the rodeo competing against 49 other contests in the event.

"It was really tough, and the atmosphere was awesome. They tried to mimic the rodeo kind of like the National Finals in Vegas, so it was pretty cool."

Lakota Bird from Nanton was also down at the rodeo and made it to the short round in the Breakaway Roping in third place and finished in sixth place over all.

Nanton's Jake Burwash competed in the Bronc Riding, Sloan Smith of Blackie competed in the Team Roping, and KS Thomson who's formerly from Black Diamond competed in the Bull Riding.
