Okotoks' Town Council is talking again about Elizabeth Street's historical buildings.

Last week, The Province's Main Street Assessment revealed the town has some work to do if it wants Main Street to be designated as a historical site.

Laurie Hodson has been a town councillor for fifteen years and says the town's actions in the past could be blamed for the lack of success with programs like this.

"In hindsight, we might have done better with more stringent architechtural controls for our new and re-constructed buildings in our downtown."

Hodson says the town is still participating in the program, and will likely hold planning meetings in order to possibly apply again in the future.
