A new partnership has now made it easier to recycle your cell phone.
Early Friday morning, the Government of Alberta and the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association signed a memorandum with industry players to increase phone recycling.
574 drop off locations in 78 communities across the province will accept cell phones for recycling.

Leanne Behrns with Alberta Environment says it's free and goes to a good cause.

Behrns says the program has been offered in the past by carriers but now brings it all to one place.

Currently, only 15% of phones are being recycled in the province.
The program expects to increase that number to 37% by the end of 2015.
