The Museum Of The Highwood held their annual general meeting Tuesday night, March 26.

Director Curator of the Museum Of The Highwood, Irene Kerr says 2018 saw an overall attendance increase of 2000 people compared to the 2017 year.

"And it never ever really slowed down, quite often in the past years we've had slower times, but we haven't had a slow time for quite some time."

Kerr says financially it's been a really good year, as all budget targets were met and the museum even received a grant.

"And another exciting thing is we actually received a grant from Travel Alberta to put together visitor outposts we're calling it, and it's kind of a little mobile visitor information centre."

Kerr says one of the museums goals is to have their collection more accessible to the public.

"So last year we started posting an archival photograph on Facebook every day, and it's been really successful. We've been really increasing our following on social media, and getting a lot of great photos out into the public."

Kerr says she's anticipating a very busy summer.
