How about that weather?  That line is probably the most over used at this time of year but why not?

A nice day is always sweet to comment on, especially after an Alberta winter right?

This weekend the High River Flyers held their spring  camp and handed out some hardware.

Luka Sokol was the big winner but all of these young athletes are deserving.

I was excited from the drop of the puck this season because I was able to help

out with announcing and playing the music all winter.  The team struggled

with injury but I really do think with the moves management made that with

another 10 games in regular season the Flyers would have been in the thick

of things like their counterpart down the way in Okotoks.  Congrats to The

Bisons on their battle effort in the playoffs this year.

My wife and I had both of our girls and families here this past weekend and still managed

to be a part of the Special Olympic swim and bowling meets this weekend in Olds

and Okotoks.  My wife coaches in the pool and I have been fortunate to play the

dance music the last few years to wrap up an always entertaining and fun

day with the athletes and volunteers.  Local athlete Rick Jones won a plaque

for most points over his average and Maria Rout was a winner from the

locals as well.  If you ever get a chance to be a part of the experience of

these events please do it, you will feel blessed and rewarded.

Have a great day!
