Nanton RCMP made several arrests and handed out some hefty fines to people wanted on warrants and aggressive drivers last week.

They tried to arrest one man wanted on several warrants related to break and enters and thefts in Nanton and Crowsnest Pass but he didn't make it easy.

When RCMP showed up at his home he ran out the back door only to find police waiting for him there

He ran back inside while RCMP got a warrant to enter the home and he was found hiding in a cubby hole in the basement. 

The man’s spouse was also arrested, charged, and released on scene for a theft in High River days prior.

RCMP also stopped 105 vehicles on Highway 22 in the construction zone north of Chain Lakes Provincial Park and issued two speeding tickets with the fastest being a motorist doing 71 kilometres an hour in a 30-kilometre-an-hour zone.
