Canada's cattle industry is trying a new marketing approach.

The former Vice-President of the Canadian Cattlemen's Association, Charlie Gracey says rather than demanding other countries to open their borders to all Canadian beef, the focus is now on gaining incremental access.
Gracey, who now sits on the board of the Alberta Livestock and Meat Agency says that shift in thinking has just happened recently. He says it's a good thing because we're moving in the right direction but it's taken a long time to get to that realization.
It has now been over five years since the first case of BSE.
