It's only been a few days but schools appear to be doing well without masks.

Superintendent of the Foothills School Division Chris Fuzessy says that's been pretty much the message he's heard from other divisions as well.

"All has been respectful and people are cognizant of people's choices and comfort levels and that's what the feedback has been across the division," he says.

He says some of the division's messaging a couple of weeks ago when the mandate was lifted for staff and adults was about being tolerant of people's choices and their comfort levels.

Now that the mask mandate's been lifted for students he says they're seeing the same thing among students and keeping schools in the division a safe and caring environment.

The new rules regarding masks in schools came into effect Tuesday March 1.
