The Okotoks Oilers have a chance to jump in the AJHL South Division standings Wednesday night.

After picking up three points over the weekend and having two games in hand on the Calgary Canucks, they can take sole possession of second place.

The Canucks (22-11-1) are just ahead by two points on the Oilers (19-8-5) with 45 and 43 points respectively.

The green and gold own the season series winning all three match-ups including last Friday's 5-1 win at home.

It will be the debut of new Oiler Jordan Xavier who was acquired in a trade that sent Cooper Page and futures to the Calgary Mustangs.

Game time is 7 p.m. at Max Bell Centre.

The Oilers have just three games left in 2016 as they'll be in Canmore on Friday, home to Bonnyville Saturday and close out the first half of the season Tuesday, December 20 at home against Xavier's former team the Calgary Mustangs.
