Okotoks is among Canada's top 100 most livable cities, according to the Globe and Mail.

The list was compiled by Mahima Singh and Chen Wang using data from 439 cities across Canada with populations over 10,000.

Criteria included economy, health care, education, housing, and amenities.

Okotoks is 65th on the list, just below Toronto.

It's one of 12 Alberta locations to make the top 100, with Okotoks ranking ninth among them.

Calgary is the highest-ranked Alberta city on the list at number 8 overall, and it's Alberta's sole representation in the top 10.

Number one on the list is Victoria, B.C., one of six B.C. cities in the top 10.

The list can be sorted by best features, and when sorted by safety, Okotoks jumps to 14th place.

Mayor Tanya Thorn was pleased to see Okotoks among the top 100, sharing the list with pride on her Facebook page.

The full list includes a data table where profiles for all 439 cities can be accessed, including Okotoks and High River.
