The Okotoks Oilers finished their BCHL regular season with a first round playoff preview against the Spruce Grove Saints, falling short in their comeback by a score of 4-3.

The Saints would score three times in the first period to take control of the game. Spruce Grove would put up 14 shots to Okotoks nine in the first 20 minutes of play.

Brennen Hocher would get the Green and Gold on the board with assists coming from Owen MacNeil, his first of three on the night, and Jack Silverberg. The Saints would answer a few minutes later and take a lead of 4-1 into the third frame.

Thomas Matte would add a goal of his own with help from MacNeil and Jagger Tapper 14:51 into the third period. Captain Dean Spak would add another goal making it a one goal game, but the Oilers ran out of time and the Saints took the game 4-3, cutting the comeback short.

Both teams will meet again on Wednesday night (April 10) at 7:00, when the Green and Gold host the Saints in game one of their best-of-five first round matchup at Centennial Arena.
