Volker Stevin crews will be conducting asphalt maintenance along South Railway Street starting this Monday, September 28th.

"Subgrade preparation, scarifying existing road, the addition of 25mm gravel to the road, manhole adjustments, placing prime coat tar, and adding mix B asphalt to the road" are listed among the work being done between Lineham Avenue and Oak Avenue.

While the area will still be accessible, minor disruptions are expected, and residents are asked to remove their vehicles from streets from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. for the duration of the work.

A parking ban will be in effect during this time, during which vehicles may be towed.

Signage will be in place to warn residents of fresh oil on the roads, which can stick to vehicles and driveways.

Residents are reminded to use caution in the area, particularly around fresh asphalt, which can be extremely hot.

Weather permitting, work is expected to last until October 10th.

Nearby home and property owners have been notified, signage has been put in place, and town messaging has been sent out ahead of the work.
