The Claresholm RCMP are investigating the explosion of a pipe bomb in town.

On Monday morning, March 6, at 8:18 a.m. RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of a garbage bin that had been blown up in Amundsen Park early in the morning.

During the investigation the RCMP discovered that a resident had video from a doorbell camera.

The video showed two people, one who was a tall male and the other who was shorter, walking up to the garbage and placing a pipe bomb inside.

They then lit the fuse and watched it blow up the garbage.  They fled on foot.

As the investigation continued the RCMP discovered a pipe bomb was also used on Saturday March 4 around 6:30 a.m. at another garbage bin at the Town of Claresholm compost site.
