The Alberta government tabled its 2024 budget this afternoon (Feb. 29).
Finance Minister Nate Horner says these are good times for the province and it's during these times the government needs to be mindful and responsible.
He says they plan to spend in areas where it's needed, like health care and education.
A news conference is set for Friday morning where the government will provide information on new schools in growing communities.
Okotoks is looking forward to hearing about a new high school.
There's also money for water and wastewater projects in smaller communities.
There's a new levy for land title registration and a $200 fee for electric vehicles.
The province will now offer the Alberta is Calling Attraction Bonus, a $5,000 refundable tax credit to people who work in eligible occupations who move to Alberta.
