No decision yet from High River council when it comes to the issue of allowing racing pigeons in the town.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass says administration brought the bylaw back for a public hearing at its Monday January 25 meeting.

"There's been a lot of work done on this, we've spent a lot of time on it so next council meeting we'll be making the final decision on it," he says.

He says council heard again from those in the pigeon racing community as well as just over a half dozen people who are opposed to having the birds in town.

"I get it, I see what their concerns are, basically nuisance and pigeons are dirty, those kinds of things, pigeon poop and everything else all over stuff, so that's the concern with them," Snodgrass says.

Council's next meeting is February 8, 2021.
