The Okotoks Film Festival is back with another Festive screening to ring in the holiday season!

This Friday, (December 2) enjoy a collection of Holiday themed Short films made locally and around the world.

Take in the celebration of the holiday season from the eyes of filmmakers as they tell their stories. Some will warm your Christmas Cheer, some will snap you back to reality, and some will take you to a wonderful or terrifying fantasy world. Cinema can move us in all ways and in this collection you will see 6-8 unique stories and voices.

The festive film festival emerged from the stay-at-home recommendations that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic. Now a few years in, it has become a tradition.

Festival director Katie Fournell made sure to pull from all over this year.

"[There are] Christmas short films from literally around the world. This year we have films from Japan, South Africa, Italy, France, U.S. and Canada. There are 13 films in total."

They will also continue the tradition of bringing in filmmakers to talk about their film. This Q&A with the filmmakers is hosted right after the films finish screening This time bringing in creative minds and talent from Italy.

You can also grab pictures with Santa on the Red Carpet!

The event runs on Dec 2 at 7 p.m. at the Okotoks Cinemas.
