A rockslide has affected many summer travellers in the Penticton area in British Columbia.

The rockslide has blocked a stretch of Highway 97. Detours have been put in place, but it will add on some travel time.

The highway is blocked in both directions between Bridgeman Road and North Beach Road for 0.3 km.

The rockslide happened between Penticton and Kelowna.

Rockslide near Penticton has shut Highway 97 down.

An alternate route is available via Highways 97C, 5A, and 3 or Highway 33.
