Southern Alberta grandmother Donna Jean Wilde recently set a world record for the longest female plank.

Wilde held her position for four hours, 30 minutes, and 11 seconds, breaking the previous record also set by a Canadian by just over ten minutes.

The 58-year-old mother of five and grandmother of twelve set a new world record for the longest time in an abdominal plank position for a female.

Premier Danielle Smith even shared the world-breaking news on her X account although she said Wilde was from Okotoks even though she's from McGrath.

A representative from Guinness was on hand for the event which was held at the McGrath school she was the former vice-principal.

Her grandchildren along with her son Ray Wilde, who's a teacher at the school, cheered her on from the school's theatre and gymnasium.

Donna Jean's husband Randy said on the YouTube posting by Guinness that over 20 years ago she contracted a debilitating condition called transverse myelitis which affects her feeling in her hands and arms. He said that his wife of the last forty years knows all about pain management because of her condition.
