A slew of storage unit thefts has RCMP urging people renting one to go and check theirs.

The Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit Is investigating several break-and-enters into homes and storage lockers, with an "extremely large" amount of stolen goods having been recovered.

According to RCMP, the thefts span as far back as May 2022.

They're recommending anyone in the Airdrie or Calgary area who's renting or leasing a storage locker to check theirs in case they've been broken into.

They add that the suspects have been securing the lockers after breaking into them in order to cover up the thefts.

Any victims of break-and-enters into storage lockers can contact their local RCMP detachment or email rcmp.ksadcrt-ksadcrt.grc@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
