The High River Library has been the place to be over the Reading Break!

Kids got out of the house, braved the cold and made the best of their reading week and to headed down to the library for Slime 2.0!

Do your kids want to make slime at home?

This version of slime is made of glue and Borax.

What You Need:

  • School glue
    Borax (Sodium tetraborate)
    Food colouring and glitter (optional)
    Water
    Two bowls

What You Do:

In one bowl mix 1 oz. glue (about ¼ of the glue bottle) and ¼ cup water.

Add food coloring to the glue and water mixture. (Optional)

Add ¼ cup of Sodium Tetraborate (Borax) to the glue and water mixture and stir slowly.

The slime will begin to form immediately.

Stir as much as you can, then dig in and knead it with your hands until it gets less sticky.

This is messy, so make sure you get some good paper towel.

Leftover water in the bowl can just be poured out.

When not in use, store the slime in a plastic bag in the fridge to keep it from growing mold.

There are different ways to make glue with a quick google, but this was the way we did it yesterday and it was a ton of fun!
