Two suspects have been arrested and charged after ramming an Okotoks RCMP vehicle and then fleeing the scene.

It happened last Friday night, Dec. 30, at approximately 10:30 when RCMP officers came across an occupied stolen pickup truck in the 200 block of Southridge Drive.

When the RCMP attempted a traffic stop, the pickup rammed the front of the RCMP cruiser and then drove off.

The stolen vehicle was later spotted in Calgary and after joint efforts with the Calgary Police including a canine unit the suspects were apprehended.

35-year-old Chadwick Devaux of Airdrie is facing numerous charges and was also found to have multiple outstanding arrest warrants. 

Devaux has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00
  • Failing to comply with a release order
  • Resist arrest by a Peace Officer

He was remanded into custody and is set to appear in Okotoks Provincial court on January 13.

And 37-year-old Zoulton Bonin of Calgary is facing one charge of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00.

Bonin was released on a promise to appear in Okotoks Provincial court on February 3.
