The Third Chuckwagon Canvas Auction for the 2016 Professional Chuckwagon season took place in Grande Prairie last night.

Overall numbers have been much lower this year as everyone seems to be holding on to their dollars a little more tightly.

High River boys Jason Glass had a bid of $6,000 and Jordie Fike was $4,000.

Okotoks Mark Sutherland also had a bid of $6,000 with the highest bid of the night going to Chad Harden of $10,750.

Total amounts bid was $180,000 which was $63,800 less than last year.

The final Chuckwagon Canvas Auction for the 2016 season will be on Friday May 6 at the Stagecoach Saloon on the Ponoka Stampede grounds.
