The High River Flyers are going to take a year off from the Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League.
They say because of COVID-19 they can't do any fundraising, so they simply can't operate the team.
Usually the Flyers would be able to get money from a casino, their annual golf tournament and hosting camps.
But all those revenue sources dried up with the pandemic, so they took the League's offer to shut down for a year and wait until they can fundraise again.
Team President, Mike Bliss, says it was a tough decision to make, but the right one given the circumstances.
He says once they can fundraise again, they'll start planning for the 2021-2022 season.
