A three-vehicle collision on Mother's Day claimed the lives of two people from Lethbridge.

Claresholm and Fort Macleod RCMP attended the scene in the M.D. of Willow Creek on Sunday, May 12.

The collision happened just east of Granum on Highway 519 and Range Road 255.

RCMP Corporal Gina Slaney says it happened at approximately 10:30 p.m.

"The collision involved three vehicles. There was an eastbound Honda Civic, an eastbound black Dodge Ram pickup which was pulling a U-Haul trailer, and a westbound red Dodge Ram pickup truck. Upon arrival, both occupants of the Honda Civic were located deceased. The female driver and male passenger of the black Dodge Ram suffered no injuries. And the driver of the red Ram pickup truck suffered serious injuries and was transported to a Calgary hospital via ground ambulance."

The male driver of the Honda was 35 years old, and the female passenger was 31, they were both from Lethbridge.

The RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
