Saturday August 5 is Food Day Canada.

It's a chance for Canadians to join in one massive celebration in praise of food and all the good people who make it happen from farms to forks.

This year Food Day Canada is celebrating 20 years of shining a light on Canadian cuisine.

Food Day Canada was originally created as the World’s Longest Barbecue, by Anita Stewart, her family and a number of supporters, in an effort to show support for Canada’s beef farmers and ranchers during BSE.

The mission is to actively promote the growth and study of our distinctively Canadian cuisine.

Everyone is invited to join in, to shop, cook, dine and celebrate Canadian.

Food Day Canada is free and inclusive.
