We still don't know exactly what's going to happen when it comes to re-opening set for Thursday, May 14.

The Province says they'll decide Wednesday, May 13, whether or not to go ahead with plans to ease COVID-19 restrictions.

Mike Bliss, who own's the High River Mr. Mikes says he's ready to go for a planned opening whenever it happens.

"We have a plan in place. The franchise has been really good about helping us out with all the documentation, things like that. So, we're ready. I don't think anybody really knows what to expect. But we're ready for what we think."

He says it's been tough having to shut down his dining room the last couple of months and is excited to re-open, if only in a limited capacity.

"If we were a take-out and delivery business it wouldn't be that bad. But, we're not. So, we really rely on our in-dining guests to make a go of it. It's been tough that way. So, we'll see what this new reality is like and we'll go from there."

Bliss says how they work, if and when they're allowed to open, will be a little different than normal.

"If there is some sort of line-up outside, it'll have to be spaced out. We're definitely going to be encouraging people to make as many reservations as possible so that we can control the flow. If you come early for your reservation, you probably won't be able to get in. We've got tables that are separated from other tables and tables that are closed off, so you won't be able to sit there."

Other local restaurants, like the Whistle Stop Cafe, My Pizza, Evelyn's Diner and Boston Pizza all say they'll keep their dining rooms closed for now and continue with take-out.
