The town of High River hosts a lot of special events every year.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass says Heather Ross has been hired to help the organizers.

"The Event Coordinator's position is to be the liaison between all of our premiere events, so everything from the parade to the Balloon Glow, the car show, the burnout, there's a liaison between the Town and the event coordinators to see what the events need for the Town," he says.

He says there are lots of events that take place in other communities that might work in High River as well and she'll look into those.

Ross will also be involved with the film and television industry when it comes to town, according to the mayor, making sure they can get the road closures and other things they need.
